Sam is an ordained Foursquare minister. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and Duke Divinity School. In June of 1995, he retired after 31 years of active, ordained pastoral ministry to devote his full energies to His High Places. He is a charter member of the AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors). Sam often says, "Facts of our past aren't what shape us. It's our perception of these facts and our responses to them that make the difference. Even though the facts cannot be changed, our perceptions can, and that makes all the difference in the world." Sam commonly ministers to those suffering from anxiety, depression, burnout, anger, pornography and various addictions.
