Main Location – Boone, NC

HHP started in Banner Elk, NC in 1980. In October of 2009, the ministry relocated to a beautiful three-story home in Boone. The new facility is perfect for the work that we do with clients. Sam and Anita McMillan live onsite and serve as host and hostess. The home is located in a gated community with breathtaking views (enjoyable from the wrap-around verandas) and abundant wildlife. The roads are great for walking and there are hiking trails as well. There are four guest suites available each with a private bedroom and separate counseling area. Clients enjoy either a private or semi-private bathroom. The suites either have a full kitchen or a kitchenette that includes a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee pot. Guests enjoy breakfast and lunch in the privacy of their suite. They either bring food items from home or plan to stop by the grocery store on the way in to pick up supplies (we are about 15 minutes from town). A delicious family-style meal is lovingly prepared and served each evening by our on-site cook and hostess, Paula Miller. Dinner is meant to be a wonderful time of fellowship among the guests and hosts. Sam and Anita McMillan and Terry Hartley work from the Boone campus. Patty and Missy often travel to Boone to work with clients as needed. Boone is located in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountain range and there are several activities to enjoy during free-time.

Virginia Location – Danville, VA

HHP director Patty Wilson has made a lovely suite in her home as an inviting safe haven for clients. Danville is very conveniently located in central VA and is usually a shorter drive for clients coming in from the Northeast. The Greensboro airport (Piedmont Triad) is about an hour drive from Danville. Guests are treated like family at the Wilson home. A private suite is located in the upper level of the home which includes a bedroom, bathroom and sitting area. A kitchenette is provided with a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee pot. Guests working with Patty in Danville are treated to one scrumptious meal each day – either a family style dinner or a nice lunch out. Clients prepare their other two meals each day in their kitchenette. Danville guests receive a complimentary pass to the Danville Athletic Center (a great gym) as well as the Wilson's lovely pool which is open during seasonable weather. There are also great places to walk (including the scenic Dan River).

The ministry model is the same regardless of the physical location a client visits. Each location is thoughtfully prepared for the client's comfort and complete feeling of security. You will feel welcome and loved from the moment you step foot in the door – whichever door you end up choosing.
